What guides the work

Clarity, capital and accountable execution

Our purpose is to help decision-makers convert a financing or transaction objective into a credible, executable mandate. Matchpoint brings structure to the decision, prepares the evidence capital providers require and maintains senior accountability through execution.

Our values

The standards we set for every mandate

Six principles shape how we advise, communicate and take responsibility for the work.

01

Integrity before expediency

We surface conflicts, constraints and uncomfortable facts early. A mandate proceeds only where the work can be undertaken responsibly and under clear written terms.

02

Client interests guide the mandate

We listen for the commercial objective behind the request and give direct advice on readiness, structure, timing and execution risk.

03

Senior ownership, end to end

The partner responsible for the advice stays accountable through preparation, outreach, negotiation and close.

04

Evidence before assertion

Valuations, capital structures and recommendations are supported by documented assumptions, source evidence and sensitivity analysis.

05

Structure must fit the situation

Debt, equity, M&A and private-market solutions are assessed against cash flow, control, risk, jurisdiction and timing.

06

Relationships endure beyond the close

We deal fairly with clients, capital providers and professional introducers, and protect confidentiality throughout the relationship.

Start with the problem

Direct answers before you choose an advisory route

A short diagnostic for founders, boards, investors and sponsors deciding what help they need and what to prepare.

01

I need capital but do not know whether I need equity, debt or M&A advice. Where do I start?

Start with the decision, use of funds, amount, timing, ownership objective, repayment capacity, security and acceptable control. Matchpoint can then compare equity, debt, structured capital, asset-level finance, a strategic transaction or a staged combination for an eligible mandate.

Prepare: A short mandate brief, historical financials, forecast, cap table, debt schedule and the decision management wants to make.

02

What information does Matchpoint need to assess a mandate?

The initial assessment requires the company or asset, transaction objective, amount, use of funds, geography, sector, timing, ownership, financial profile, existing financing, counterparties already approached and material constraints. Confidential detail can follow an agreed process.

Prepare: Management summary, financials, transaction outline, ownership information and the name of the authorised decision-maker.

03

Why might Matchpoint decline a financing or transaction enquiry?

An enquiry may fall outside the stated USD 5 million minimum mandate size, sector or jurisdiction coverage, evidence requirements, capacity, engagement terms or counterparty-fit criteria. The decision follows the information available during qualification and does not assess the underlying business as a whole.

Prepare: Provide complete and current information so the mandate can be assessed against the published criteria.

04

How does Matchpoint keep a fundraising or M&A process controlled?

A controlled process defines the mandate, evidence, approved materials, target universe, confidentiality steps, communication authority, diligence workflow, feedback register, term comparison and decision owners before broad execution begins.

Prepare: Approved scope, source-linked materials, target list, NDA process, data-room index, contact log and decision timetable.

05

What happens after I contact Matchpoint Partners?

The team reviews the stated objective and available evidence, tests mandate fit, identifies missing information and determines whether a confidential scoping conversation is appropriate. Any work, outreach, fees and responsibilities require written engagement terms.

Prepare: State the objective, amount, geography, sector, timetable and authorised contact clearly in the enquiry.

Work with a co-pilot who flies with you.

From first call to final close, you deal directly with the people doing the work.

Check whether your mandate fits our criteria

We advise on mandates from USD 5m to USD 500m and above across capital raising, M&A and fund placement. Tell us your requirement, mandate size, jurisdiction and timing, and a partner will respond personally, typically within one business day.
